I have been knitting the Cuddly Soft Baby Blanket for years. It is a simple pattern that beginners will enjoy but still interesting enough for more advanced knitters. If you can knit, purl and YO, then this pattern will be super easy and fun to knit! I like to make the stroller and carseat size. Young parents can even keep it in the carseat to keep their little ones warm in cold weather and also in air conditioning. It’s not bulky so it’s a great blanket to transport. Assuming a gauge of 4.5 stitches to the inch:

Pattern Notes

This baby blanket knitting pattern has an easy 14 row repeat that is simple to remember. For this project I used 4 skeins (600 yards) of cotton yarn.

Knit it as wide or as long as you like.

Knit the blanket all in one color, or a variegated yarn, or change up the sections any way you want using up leftovers in your stash. This pattern is the ultimate stashbuster!

Knit

Cast on

Bind off

Tip: For binding off blankets I like to use a stretchy bind off. Knit 2 stitches. Insert the left needle into both stitches on the right needle and knit them together. Knit another stitch and repeat.
