Knitting a baby blanket brings me pure joy! This latest pattern sprouted from the idea of completing my “Kisses” collection. The first was Tiny Kisses, followed by Hugs ‘N Kisses. Since good things come in threes, I had to create one more to seal the trio.
Each blanket features a special “Kisses Section,” a delightful textured pattern that’s a breeze to knit. When Tiny Kisses debuted, it was a hit with my readers and Instagram pals. Witnessing the knitting community’s creative spins on this design warms my heart!

Needles
Size US 8 circular needles with a 24″ – 32″ cord.
Gauge is not important with a baby blanket. Depending on your tension, you may knit a tighter, denser, warmer blanket. Or you may end up with an airy, lighter blanket if you tend to be a loose knitter. Personally I am a loose knitter. I chose the size US 8 needles based on the yarn that I prefer to use for my baby blankets. The US 8 is the size recommended on the sleeve of the skein.

Yarn
Choosing the right yarn is essential for achieving the desired look and feel of the Candy Kisses Baby Blanket. Opt for a soft, medium-weight worsted yarn that is gentle on delicate skin, ideally a soft acrylic, washable wool or cottong for a perfect balance of warmth and breathability. The yarn I recommend for this project is a soft 100% acrylic yarn that is easy to care for.
For a charming touch, select pastel shades or soft neutrals to complement the sweetness of the Candy Kisses pattern. Consider using a speckled or variegated yarn to mimic the “candies,” paired with a coordinating solid color for the stripes.
The Candy Kisses pattern calls for 2 colors of yarn: one a solid and the other a multicolored. However for this project, I changed it up and used a variety of colors. I always like experimenting, even when it’s my own pattern!
The Yarn used for this project is:Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Yarn” in the following colors:
Fruit Salad – the multicolored, speckled yarn
Menthe
Soft Blue
Buttercup
Arctic Ice
How much yarn should I buy?
Estimates are approximate. If you decide to use more than the 2 colors that the pattern calls for, then simply take the number of yards recommended for the solid yarn and divide that by the number of colors that you chose.
Using worsted or aran weight yarn and assuming a gauge of 4.5 stitches to the inch:
Stroller: 250 yards solid, 350 yards multicolored for 22 x 28
Baby: 300 yards solid, 450 yards multicolored for 28 x 36
Small: 500 yards solid, 650 yards multicolored for 38 x 42
Medium: 750 yards solid, 900 yards multicolored for 48 x 60
Large: 1000 yards solid, 1200 yards multicolored for 60 x 80
