Meet me ~ Candylou of candyloucreations

candyloucreationsHi! Meet me Candylou of candyloucreations… thanks for coming! I am seriously addicted to knitting.  Knitting is supposed to be fun, right?  And it is!

I have only been knitting since 2012.  I am a newer knitter as far as knitters go, but I have knit more than many experienced knitters have knit in their entire lives!

I also enjoy blogging.  I have had this website since the early 2000’s.  It has taken many forms.  At one point I took pictures of my dog.  As time evolved I began to post pictures and videos of my family and grandchildren.  It was an online diary for family and friends who lived far away.

In 2018 I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.  I wrote a few articles about how it feels to get a diagnosis like that and how my faith in people just blew me away with their kindness and support.

All the while, I was knitting and photographing my projects and posting them on ravelry.  I wrote up project pages on candylou.com about my knitting projects.  I’d write down what I like about the pattern and what I did not like about the pattern.  I talked about my favorite needles and yarn, which can change with each project.

I began writing some knitting blog articles about projects and fun finds on Etsy and elsewhere.   I also blogged about my ongoing battle with pancreatic cancer.  So far I am winning that battle and will never give up.

I began writing my own patterns and opened an Etsy shop and Ravelry store.  I was determined to make easy to follow and understand patterns that beginner and intermediate level knitters would enjoy.

There is always so much to learn about knitting!  I have begun taking online classes, set up an instagram account to feature my knitting and see what others were knitting.  I began using Pinterest as a curator of knitting patterns for my sake and also for others.  That has expanded to crochet patterns, home decor crafting and crafts for kids.

I have immersed myself in the world of knitting over the last decade and I would like to share with you what I learned!

Thanks for stopping by and if you have any questions, shoot me an email, I’d love to hear from you!
