Twinkle Toes is one of those patterns that looks special but is wonderfully easy to knit. It uses familiar garter stitch and stockinette, so it is approachable for newer knitters while still being enjoyable for those who have been knitting for years.

What makes Twinkle Toes extra fun is the touch of sparkle woven throughout. Just enough shimmer to catch the light without overpowering the design. It is a sweet way to turn a simple baby blanket into something memorable.

This is the kind of project you can relax into. Easy stitches, thoughtful color changes, and a finished blanket that feels cozy, playful, and perfect for little toes to snuggle under.

Knitting the Twinkle Toes Baby Blanket Pattern

Twinkle Toes is an easy pattern and a great choice for confident beginners. It uses basic knit and purl stitches with clear, repetitive sections that make it easy to relax and enjoy the process.  There are a 3 or 4 lace rows depending on how long you want to make it.  More experienced knitters will appreciate how quickly it comes together and how satisfying it is to knit without having to constantly check the pattern.

Yarn

For this blanket, I chose a worsted weight yarn from Hobby Lobby. It is 100 percent acrylic, smooth to knit with, and becomes softer with each wash. Being both machine washable and dryable makes it an easy, worry free choice for baby blankets.

For this project I knit the stroller size blanket in “I Love This Yarn” from Hobby Lobby in Arctic Ice, Ivory and Metallic White.

How much yarn do I need?

Assuming a gauge of 4.5 stitches to the inch:

Stroller: 280 yards each of MC and CC/ 40 yards of Sparkly for for 22 x 28

Baby: 360 yards each of MC and CC/ 60 yards of sparkly for 28 x 36

Small: 600 yards MC and CC/ 80 yards of sparkly for for 38 x 42

Medium: 850 yards each of MC and CC/ 80 yards of sparkly for 48 x 60

Large: 1100 yards each of MC and CC/ 100 yards of sparkly for 60 x 80
