baby blanket keeping sleeping baby warm

Puffy Pockets Baby Blanket

This hand knit baby blanket pattern has puffy pockets of warmth!

This blanket is simple to knit because it has a 6 row repeat. A timeless pattern, this baby blanket pattern was knit by my mother for me when I was a baby.

It is reversible and can be knit as wide or as long as you want. Use a larger needle for a more light and airy blanket, or a smaller needle for a warmer, denser blanket.

Needles

I used a size 8 circular needle for this project.  You might want to try these needles – check out the awesome case!  What I love about them is that they are certified for airport security so I know I am able to throw the case of needles in my knitting bag and knit on the plane.

Yarn

You can use any worsted or aran weight yarn with this baby blanket pattern! I like using Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn because it only takes one skein to make the stroller size and it goes in and out of the washer and dryer without a problem.

1 skein of I Love This Yarn is about 350 yards worsted weight yarn for stroller size, about 22 x 28.  Instructions are included for larger sizes.
