Beach Bunnies Baby Blanket

How would you like to make a cute little blanket with stripes, a section that looks like sand and then some bunnies with little pompom tails for the little one in your life?  The blanket is made in one section using knits and purls.  It is colorful but it does not involve fair isle or stranding.

Yarn

I used 3 partial skeins of  Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn for this project in white, buttercup and light peach.

I Love This Yarn

Have you tried Lion Brand Basic Stitch Acrylic Yarn? It’s another great blanket yarn that goes in the washer and dryer and just gets softer and softer with time.

Needles

Next step – gather my needles.  I always knit with circular needles because the work can rest safely on the cable when I am not knitting.  The needles I have been using lately are the Knitpicks Circular Interchangeable Needles.    For my baby blankets and worsted weight yarn, I always choose a size 8 needle.

BO

Make 3 bunny tail pompoms.  I tied them on with a bow so they can be removed for washing or safety purposes. I love using the Clover Pompom Maker!  It makes perfect pompoms in a few minutes.  This article shows you how to do it if you have any questions.
