Lisa’s Cabled Cowl

Using 1 skein of Georgia Peach yarn in tan with a size 3 needle, I knit this cozy cabled cowl for my daughter.  I did not knit it in the round so I closed up the ends by sewing them together with decorative buttons!

Here are the basics of how I knit this cowl:

Cast on 53 sts.
Knit 8 rows

Main Pattern

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: Knit 6, Purl to last 6 stitches, Knit 6

Cable row: Row 3: Knit 6; slip 4 sts onto a cable needle in front of the work, knit 4, then work the sts on the cable needle; Knit 6, slip 3 sts onto a cable needle in back of the work, K3, work the sts on the cable needle: K3, P1, slip 3 sts onto a cable needle in front of the work, K3, work the sts on the cable needle; knit 6; slip 4 sts onto a cable needle in front of the work, knit 4, then work the sts on the cable needle; knit 6

Row 4: Knit 6, Purl to last 6 stitches, Knit 6
