I made these beanies with size 5 needles and Berrocco comfort yarn. The pattern is for adult size but I wanted to make it for my 18 month old grandson. So instead of using the recommended size 9 needles, I used size 5. For my first try I cast on 64 stitches and it was too small. So for the next try I cast on 80 stitches, just did 4 rows of ribbing and this time it was perfect!
