Cast on 72 stitches. KFB of each stitch.
Add white. Double knit for 4 rows.
Separate the rows and thread waste yarn through one layer. PM every 12 stitches. Continue on with one layer using a checkerboard pattern and then shamrock pattern for the Ireland Rugby hat. I started with size 4 needle but switched to size 6 for the fair isle portions. Switched back to 4 after fair isle was finished. After a total of 30 rows I started decreasing every 8 stitches. Knit around, decreased until there 4 stitches between each marker left. k2tog around. Thread yarn thru remaining stitches and pull stitches together.
Thread size 4 needle thru the reversible side of the hat and made the snowy trees hat pattern minus the ribbing. i used size 6 needle for the fair isle parts.
After 30 rows began decreases. Finished as above.
