Lacy Brim Baby Hat & Baby Washcloth

washcloth and pretty soap with hydrangea
knitted washcloths
knit washcloth and ribbon

knitted stack of washcloths and ribbon

Using Susan Gardner’s Flower Girl Baby Cloche pattern, the brim is lacy with the solid color, and the hat is made with a coordinating print.  I haven’t made the flower for these hats yet.  One has a pompom which I might keep.  I used a size 4 needle and I Love This Cotton.  The bigger hat has 60 stitches while the smaller hat I used 54 stitches.  The smaller hat is suitable for a newborn while the bigger hat will fit a 3 month old.

The baby washcloth was made with the standard diagonal washcloth pattern:  CO 3.  Knit 3.  k2, YO, knit to end.  When there are 50 stitches on the needles then:  k1, k2tog, YO k2 tog.
